WCSD Signature Application Teacher Survey
Signature Academies are offered in each Reno/Sparks high school, as well as two Signature Schools: Wooster High School (International Baccalaureate programs) and the Academy of Arts, Careers & Technology. Each program is designed around a unique theme that allows students to participate in rigorous, applied curriculum that includes opportunities to earn college credit and industry certifications, gain 21st Century college and career skills, and develop connections between school and the real world.
Students enter Signature Academies in 9th grade and complete a 4-year program of study which often includes job shadows, internships, and advanced research. All students wishing to participate must apply for admission, meet the minimum criteria for acceptance, and be selected through a lottery process for the Signature Academy of their choice.
As part of the application process, each student applicant must submit recommendations from teachers and counselors who can provide information about their potential for success in a Signature Academy program. This year we are collecting recommendations on a random basis.
