1. Overview

The AAHFN Annual Conference Committee requests session proposals for the Annual Conference!

Submission period opens: October 3, 2014
Submission period closes: October 31, 2014

Purpose
To allow active AAHFN members to propose sessions for presentation at the 11th Annual Conference.

Audience and Topics
Session proposals should address the needs of nurses and allied health professionals who care for patients with heart failure across the spectrum of care: inpatient settings, outpatient offices, diagnostic services, emergency departments, palliative care and home care. Topics may focus on clinical care; evidence based practice, summaries of research findings or the theoretical applications for the novice or experienced clinician.

Method
All session proposals will be reviewed by the AAHFN Annual Conference Committee, which will consider the merits of the proposal as well as the balance of topics presented at the conference in making decisions to accept or reject a proposal. The AAHFN Annual Conference Committee welcomes proposals from individuals who may not have been previously part of the AAHFN Annual Conference faculty. Only completed submissions will be reviewed.

Session Duration
Session proposals should be 30 or 60 minutes in length with (10) minutes dedicated to questions and answers. Presentations may not utilize more than a single meeting room, and will be scheduled as a concurrent breakout. The meeting will be CNE accredited and therefore American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) essentials for planning the conference must be followed. Faculty may not independently solicit funding for the program from industry, the government, or agencies without prior approval from the AAHFN Board of Directors.

Session Formats
AAHFN welcome session proposals in a variety of formats including panel discussions, case studies, rapid fire, hands on and/or presentations with multiple speakers.
