Survey Announcement: Shape the future of non-financial reporting by European companies with a few clicks.

Transparency, consistency and comparability in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) information presented by companies is increasingly seen as important in terms of strengthening the trust of investors and stakeholders in those companies. Sustainability reporting guidelines and principles are already being implemented successfully by leading companies to realise these benefits, but to gain traction, many have suggested that these systems need to be supported by a clear legal framework.

Aviva, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), and the European Sustainable Investment Forum (Eurosif) are organising an event on non-financial reporting to be held in June 2013 in Brussels. The aim of the event is to:
• present the soon to be published Fourth and Seventh Company Law Directives, which intends to improve the disclosure regime of non-financial information by companies in the EU, and
• exchange views on the potential impact of the proposals for companies and their stakeholders.

The event is under the joint patronage of MEPs Baldassarre and Howitt, and will feature top level European Commission participants and other policy makers.

To capture the views of analysts and investors on non-financial information, the following survey has been produced. The results of this questionnaire will be used to present the needs of investors for non-financial information disclosure by European companies. This will inform legislators and influence the outcome of legislation designed to promote non-financial disclosure.

The questionnaire is one page, consists of 11 questions, and should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

At the end of the survey, you will be given the option to receive the aggregated results of the questionnaire when the analysis is complete.

This is your chance to have an direct impact on European policy making and actively shape the future of non-financial reporting by European companies.

The responses are individual, anonymous and not associated to any organisation, so please also distribute this to any relevant person in your network. If you have any questions on the objectives of the survey, and the relevant results, please contact us at contact@eurosif.org

Thank you!
