Junction City School District Facility Improvements Community Survey

This questionnaire is one of the first steps in a visioning and facilitation process for the Junction City School District. The goal of the process is to plan for improvements for Junction City School District facilities, namely the District’s four schools:
• Territorial Elementary School
• Laurel Elementary School
• Oaklea Middle School
• Junction City High School

The process includes the following steps:
1. Identify improvement priorities related to facility improvements identified in a 2007/2008 Junction City School District Facilities Assessment, as well as other possible improvements or initiatives (e.g. building new facilities, making educational program investments).

2. Test support for specific improvement options; and

3. Prepare a proposed package of improvements based on the previous steps.

* 1. Please rank the relative need for each of the following types of improvements from 1 to 7, where 1 is your first priority, 2 is your second priority, 3 is your third priority, and so on. To make your ranking, please enter the correct number in the box next to each choice. As you do this, the list will automatically reorder itself from top to bottom. Alternatively, you can drag your choices to the top or bottom of the list (or somewhere in-between). Your first priority should be at the top of the list and your last (7th) priority should be at the bottom of the list.

Mechanical – bring heating and cooling systems up-to-date to meet current building code requirements, improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs

Accessibility improvements – address barriers for people with physical disabilities and comply with related requirements

Electrical – bring electrical and communication systems up-to-date to meet current building code requirements, incorporate new technology, improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs and enhance communications

Health and safety of facilities – provide for seismic upgrades, fire safety, security improvements, etc.

Common areas – expand or improve cafeterias, gymnasiums, media centers or similar spaces

Architectural features– make basic repairs or renovations such as re-roofing, re-paving, new windows or new bathrooms

Instructional spaces –ensure classrooms can accommodate existing and future class sizes and that classrooms include needed instructional facilities and features (e.g., up-to-date technology, communication equipment, etc.)
