The Royalton Buyout Committee (Committee) invites you to provide feedback on potential improvements to the four FEMA buyout sites in Royalton by completing the following survey. The Committee also invites you to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, September 17 from 6-8pm at the Royalton Academy Building (4266 VT Route 14) to learn more about the Royalton buyout sites and the process involved in designing and constructing site improvements.

Question Title

* 1. Why are you interested in Royalton buyout sites?

The four FEMA buyout sites in Royalton are located at 830 VT Route 14, 106 Bridge Street, 43 Royalton Hill Road, and 124 Gilman Road. The Royalton Buyout Committee has discussed potential improvements at each site - see below. After each site description, there is an opportunity for you to agree or disagree with the proposed improvements and to provide additional comments.

Question Title

* 2. 830 VT Route 14 – This buyout site is located across VT Route 14 from the Avery’s Rocks pulloff. Because the site is not located along the White River, the Committee envisions mowing the grass once a year and allowing the public to “rent” the space with the appropriate town permit.

Question Title

* 3. 106 Bridge Street – This buyout site is located diagonally across from the privately-owned Royalton Bridge river access site. Because the site is not located along the White River, the Committee envisions mowing the grass once a year and allowing the public to “rent” the space with the appropriate town permit.

Question Title

* 4. 43 Royalton Hill Road – This buyout site is located on the White River, across Royalton Hill Road from the state-owned Fox Stand river access site. The Committee envisions mowing the field once a year and improving recreational use by installing parking, picnic tables, a path to the river, and horse shoe pits.

Question Title

* 5. 124 Gilman Road – This buyout site is located on the White River, across the river from the state-owned Fox Stand river access site. The Committee envisions improving recreational use by installing parking, picnic tables, and a path to the river.
