Roster of experts on occupational health

Dear colleague,

You are invited to make on-line application for inclusion in WHO/Europe roster of experts if you are interested in active participation in WHO Regional Office for Europe activities addressing to occupational health.
The Parma Declaration and its Commitment to Act emphasize that it is necessary to "increase cooperation with ... scientific community, drawing on their expertise and knowledge in order to achieve the best possible results" for progress in environmental health issues including occupational health.
As an initial step WHO Regional Office for Europe will create a European Region roster of experts in the area of occupational health(scientists and technical experts) for information collection and dissemination.

We expect applications from experts to correspond to the following requirements:
- professional experience not less than 7 years in relevant area of expertise;
- academic degree for scientific experts/qualification certificate for technical experts;
- general and field specific knowledge of WHO policy and priorities;
- scientific publications in relevant area during past 5 years;
- abilities to collect and disseminate information upon WHO Regional Office for Europe request (based on existing information);
- English language knowledge for communicating orally and in writing;
- no ethical, professional, financial and work-related interest that could be construed as a conflict of interest with WHO rules and requirements;
- experience in applying of scientific knowledge and evidence-based criteria in development of policy documents (considered as an advantage);
- work experience with international organizations – development of papers, trainings, participation in projects (considered as an advantage); and
- experience in development of systematic reviews (considered as an advantage).

Screening selection based on assessment of compliance with the above-mentioned requirements will be done by WHO Regional Office for Europe. The roster will be created taking into account the balance of geographical, gender and areas of expertise factors. Applicants will be informed personally about the decision made by the Regional Office.

Next round of applications will be announced by WHO Regional Office for Europe in three years.
