SECTION 1 - Curriculum: Literacy (English)

Literacy 2013
During 2013, the school has made significant changes to the timetabling and organisational structures in regard to the way literacy is being taught to students in each classroom. These changes have involved specialist support teachers team teaching with class teachers for four sessions per week in each classroom. SECTION 2 - Management: School Structure

School Structure
At present the school is organisaed around two distinct structures. For the students in Kindergarten to Year 2, the classes they are in are either parallel (all students from one grade) classes or composite (students from two different grades in the one class) classes. This differs from the students in Years 3 - 6. Currently students in Years 3 - 6 are in 'staged' classes. This means that all students from Year 3 and Year 4 are in classes made up from students in Year 3 and students in Year 4. This is the same for students in Years 5 and 6. They are all in classes made up of Year 5 and Year 6 students together. Our School Council has recently begun a review of these structures in order to examine the positive and negative aspects of each structure and then match that information with current research around student learning. This review will run throughout 2014. As a part of this review, some information from the wider school community would be of great benefit.
