A Survey of Older People’s Understanding of Epilepsy & Epilepsy Management

Dear Research Participant

Welcome to the 2015 Epilepsy in the Later Years Survey. This will provide valuable information to help the Epilepsy Foundation improve its services, to make submissions to Government on the needs of older people with epilepsy and of appropriate management plans to deal with epilepsy.

What is this survey about?

We want to better understand how older people generally, and older people living with epilepsy and their families understand epilepsy. For people with epilepsy we want to know how involved they are in their epilepsy management. There is little research specifically looking at epilepsy in older people so your input is important. This will help us improve how epilepsy is managed for people aged 65 or over.

Who should complete this survey?

Section 1 - People aged 65 or over
If you live in Australia and are aged 65 or over complete Section 1 about your knowledge of epilepsy.

Section 2 - People aged 65 or over living with epilepsy
If you are currently living with epilepsy, we would like you to complete Section 1 and Section 2.

How do I complete this survey?

You can read through the questions before answering them if you wish. Most questions only require you to tick a box. Some questions ask you to write some additional information or comments. If you are not sure of an answer, just tell us what you can remember. Please complete the survey by the end of August 2015.

What do I do if I have questions?

If you need more information about this survey or any of the questions you can contact Juliette Parker at the Epilepsy Foundation via email at jparker@epilepsy.asn.au or phone 03 8809 0672.
