A survey of aged care sector staff and carer's understanding of epilepsy

Dear Research Participant

Welcome to the 2015 Epilepsy in the Later Years Staff Survey. We want to better understand how aged care sector staff understand and support people living with epilepsy. This will help us better support the workforce to increase their skills. It will also help the Epilepsy Foundation in making submissions to Government on the needs of older people with epilepsy and of appropriate management plans to deal with epilepsy.

What is this survey about?

We want to better understand how aged care sector staff understand and support people living with epilepsy. This will help us better support the workforce to increase their skills – your input is important!

If you are over 18 years of age and work with people in the aged care sector in Australia, or are a paid or unpaid carer at an Aged Care facility or at home for an older person with epilepsy we would be most grateful if you would complete this short survey which relates to your knowledge of epilepsy, and your organisation’s approach to supporting people with epilepsy.

The information you provide will remain confidential and any reports or publications will not include any identifying information. This survey can be completed and returned anonymously. You are free to not answer particular questions but we encourage you to try and complete all questions. Your participation will not impact on your role in the agency you work for.

How do I complete this survey?

Most questions only require you to tick a box. Some questions ask you to write some additional information or comments. You will also be asked to nominate if you wish to be in a focus group or part of an education and training program.
Please complete the survey by the end of August 2015.
