Volunteers Needed for After-School Program |
Fayette County Schools is offering an after-school tutoring/mentoring program designed to provide additional academic support to elementary students. This pilot program will include educational tutoring, supportive instruction such as conflict resolution and character education, and extra curricular enrichment activities.
We are seeking volunteers from the community who would like to participate in this program for an hour and a half in the afternoon for one to three days a week.
If you don’t have experience working with children but would like to help, we will provide an orientation workshop to get you started and a teacher will always be available for assistance. If you have talents in music, art, computers or other areas and would like to share your knowledge, we would welcome your contributions to the program.
Our program volunteers will be coordinated by Nancy Johnson, the Executive Director of Fayette Literacy. If you have questions about the program, you may contact her at 901-813-8126.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the survey below.
Thank you.
Mr. James Teague, Director of Schools
Dr. Lonnie Harris, Director of Curriculum & Instruction
