Do the types of dog food fed by their owners increase the likelihood of heart health related issues:
My name is Krysia Browne, I am currently undertaking Animal behaviour and welfare BsC at Hartpury College (UWE). I would like to invite you to take part in a research study looking at 'Do the types of dog food fed by their owners increase the likelihood of heart health issues'. The questionnaire should not take more than 10 minutes to complete.
In this study I will be investigating the effects of dog food consumption, as fed by their owners, effects has upon domestic dogs heart health and attempt to rule out any breed related conditions that may be the major influencing factor. I will also be briefly looking into the perception of the owner has of their dogs weight and also where the owner may look for information on weight loss programs for their dog if considered overweight.
The benefits of participation are to increase the knowledge and understanding of dietary requirements for dogs potentially worldwide and to allow a better understanding of public perception on what they consider obese as well as where information about weight loss programs is looked for.
Please note that all information which is collected about you during the course of the research will be kept securely with the researcher. Any information which enters the public domain will be anonymised so that you cannot be recognized from it unless you wish to be publicly acknowledged. Questionnaire data will be held but information will be coded for anonymity. The results will be presented as my dissertation and a paper and electronic copy will be kept at Hartpury College; additionally I aim to publish the research in an appropriate journal.
By filling out this questionnaire this is indicating your voluntary informed consent to participating in the research and also granting consent for the data obtained from this to be used and analysed over the course of the research study.
