WHQR's HD Radio "Pay It Forward" program

How the HD radio "Pay It Forward" program works

Thanks to the generosity of some great public-spirited donors (see below), WHQR has created the HD Radio "Pay It Forward" Fund. Through the fund, we are able to provide an Insignia FM/HD radio AT NO CHARGE to members who are having trouble receiving Classical HQR at 96.7 FM.

The normal list price of this radio is $51.99 at Best Buy stores and bestbuy.com. The number of members selected for a free HD Radio will be determined by the number of applications and the amount remaining in the Fund.

HD radios receive ordinary FM signals as well as the special HD signal that WHQR broadcasts. 91.3's HD2 channel is the same Classical HQR heard at 96.7 FM.

(Note that 91.3 is the "home" station for HD2. 96.7 does not broadcast in HD). We are upgrading our 91.3 HD transmitter so that its range is the same as 91.3 FM.

If I am satisfied with the radio, I will consider making an additional gift of at least $40 to the WHQR HD Radio "Pay It Forward" Fund so that another listener can enjoy quality HD reception of 96.7
