Medicine Hat College Libraries - What is a Makerspace?
It may be a place for:
• collaboration • passion-based learning • co-creation
• learning new skills • play • cross-disciplinary discovery
• messy learning • exploring new technology • fun
• formal learning, programs • participatory learning • getting support + assistance
• meeting with others • making • and more
MHC Library Services would like to enhance our space to provide more opportunities for a variety of learners and learning experiences in the library. We envision a collaborative, flexible, and open space for both formal and informal learning activities. You may have already heard of this type of space which is often called a “Makerspace, Hackerspace, or a Fablab”. A Makerspace is a place where tools, support, common interest, and the community come together to learn and create, and we feel that the library is the perfect venue because it connects people with information and resources. We need your help to shape this space.
Your participation in this short questionnaire is optional and anonymous. Responses will be collected and used to help inform further programming, events, resources, and services at Medicine Hat College Library. For more information, contact Leigh Cunningham (403-504-3654 or lcunningham@mhc.ab.ca).
