Questions for CMS regarding Free Care -State Medicaid Directors Letter #14-006 |
1. CMS wants to hear from NAME Members and Friends
In mid-January 2015, NAME met with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). One of the issues discussed was the recent (December 15, 2014) 'Dear State Medicaid Director' letter that addressed the CMS “free care" policy.
CMS requested that NAME reach out and gather questions regarding this guidance.
NAME is using survey monkey to collect your questions. NAME will be meeting with CMS again in early April 2015 to continue this discussion on Free Care.
Information about who submitted each question will not be shared with the CMS. However, we request that you provide contact information in case we need clarification regarding your questions. In addition, in years past we found that some questions really need to be directed to individual state agencies and cannot be answered by the federal agency. If that is true, we want to be able to direct the person submitting the question to contact their state agency.
