Background

OHA members may nominate a candidate who has made significant contributions—beyond just having successful organizations or careers—that have notably helped advance the interests and image of Ohio’s hospitals or health systems.

Individuals can be living or inducted to the Hall posthumously. Nominations must be submitted by March 1 via OHA’s online submission form. Any submission after March 1 will be considered for the following year.

The selection process will be conducted annually by an OHA selection committee. Honorees will be announced and recognized at OHA’s annual recognition awards dinner during the Annual Meeting. Honorees will be contacted by OHA's public affairs team prior to the awards presentation to coordinate their involvement.

Application Criteria for Honorees:
• Must have made a significant and extraordinary contribution(s) to Ohio hospitals or health systems or the Association (OHA).

• Achievements and contributions must have had lasting value and importance and must have withstood the test of time.

• Specific qualities and characteristics should address the following:
(1) Effectiveness – What about this individual was ground-breaking? How has it helped solve community problems? Did it fill a gap in services?
(2) Longevity – Over what period of time did this individual make its contribution(s)? Have the contributions had a cumulative effect? What is the permanent legacy?
(3) Leadership – Was this individual a trailblazer? Did it face or overcome adversity to reach its goals? Has it provided training and opportunities for leadership development?

(4) Impact on OHA or hospital industry – Describe the impact the organization has had on OHA or the hospital industry

• Additional supporting material that documents and directly attests to the individual’s contribution(s), achievements and character may be included. Supporting letters or documents will be accepted and cannot exceed five pages.
