“Engaged Learning: Impacts and Implications”
Westford Conference Center, Westford, MA
Friday, June 14, 2013
The keynote speaker for our conference is Dr. John Saltmarsh who will explore what happens to students when they are engaged as experiential learners in their local communities, and the implications for faculty practice and institution changes needed to support this type of teaching.
The NEFDC welcomes proposals for interactive workshops, teaching tips and poster sessions related to effective programming that reflects how we are designing pedagogy and documenting our approaches to successful learning outcomes for engaged learning.
Topics might include:
-collaborative, interdisciplinary and/or service learning
-learning in the disciplines as well as approaches to general education
-blended and online applications
-transfer and continuation options from high school to higher education (as well as from two- to four-year institutions)
-documenting student outcomes inside and outside the classroom
The NEFDC especially welcomes those presentations that can demonstrate effective and practical models of teaching and learning that can be adapted and implemented at the classroom or program level.
Please submit your proposal by April 15, 2013. Incomplete proposals will not be reviewed.
