1. New Neighborhood Council Funding Program Workshops

We are excited to launch the new Neighborhood Council Funding Program. This new system was designed to provide more transparency and accountability along with ease of use for Neighborhood Council Board members.
Please note that the all Board members voting on funding matters are required to take the first 20 minutes of the workshop. Treasurers and second signatories must also take the second part of the workshop, which goes into more details about the necessary forms and monthly funding reconciliations. All Board members must also complete their 2 hour ethics training as well to participate in Neighborhood Council funding matters.
Treasurers and second signatories will have until July 6, 2013 to complete their new Funding Program workshop in order to activate their Neighborhood Council checking accounts on July 8, 2013 and until September 1, 2013 to complete their ethics training to maintain an open account. All other Board members will have until September 1, 2013 to complete their new Funding Program workshop and the ethics training to continue voting on funding matters for their Neighborhood Councils.
The Department will be tracking all Board members’ training requirements and posting them on the EmpowerLA website. A completion form will be provided at the workshops so you will have an opportunity to provide your completion form to us either online or in person at the workshop.
