The Role:

This is a strategic accounting role that will complement the existing finance team in supporting the enhanced reporting requirements the business is poised to require with its current and future ambitious growth plans.


The role of NAV Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will work closely and collaboratively with the entire finance team. This role will also be required to communicate effectively and work closely with all other teams, as Finance touches every aspect of the business.

The NAV Accountant will have an excellent level of MS Navision experience, both hands on and at a super-user level. He/she will assist the CFO to explore all possibilities to contribute to producing the level of business intelligence required that will aid the senior management and the wider management team to drive the company forward.

He / she will continually improve processes and strive to minimise the reporting time taken following the month end.

The NAV Accountant will own the Microsoft NAV system and will be responsible for its effective operation.

Responsibilities:

A. Initial Responsibilities
While learning about the business, to get accustomed to the current methods used
Initially work on MS NAV
Help NAV users improve their use of the system & their efficiency with it


B. Expanded Responsibilities
Taking over other finance roles & responsibilities over time
Ultimately full ownership of MS NAV


Skills Required:
• Very experienced user of Microsoft NAV with super-user abilities
• A solid accountant with relevant overall accounting experience
• Experience in accurate reporting and an eye for detail
• Personable and polite
• Proven track record to meet deadlines and department and business objectives
• Potential to manage staff in due course
• Proven team management and mentoring skills
• Strong communication skills, ability to work with internal and external clients
• A collaborative team player with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Energetic, positive self-starter with a ‘can-do’ attitude

o Purchase ledger function
o Deferred revenue
o Bookkeeping and accounting
o Payroll (outsourced)
o Management Accounts
o Subsidiary accounting
o Staff expenses management
• NAV Invoice journal involvement
• Bank
o Reconciliations
o Deposit management
• Due Diligence coordinator
• Verifier
o VAT Returns
• Audit file schedule preparation and coordinator
• Ad hoc
• Support the CFO


Experience and Qualifications Required
• Qualified Accountant
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Navision
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• Experience in the preparation of consolidated accounts
• Multi-currency business

Useful Skills and Experience
• Knowledge/Experience in Microsoft Navision 2013
• Knowledge/Experience in JetReports
• Proficient with MS Office applications
• Experience with Salesforce would be of some benefit
• Subscription / licence based business
