NASIG 2013: The Art of Information / The Architecture of Knowledge
June 6-9, 2013
Buffalo, New York

The 2013 Program Planning Committee invites proposals for conference sessions. The program planners are interested in hearing from publishers, vendors, librarians, and others in the field of serials and electronic resources. This year we would like topics to focus around (1) electronic resource life cycle and management, (2) collection analysis and development, (3) standards and systems of cataloging and classification, metadata, and indexing, (4) technology and providing access to electronic resources, (5) licensing and legal framework, (6) standards, initiatives, and best practices, and (7) scholarly communication. Proposals based on emerging trends, case studies, and descriptive and experimental research findings are encouraged.

This Call for Proposals will close on September 14, 2012. Inquiries may be sent to the chairs, Karen Davidson and Kelli Getz, at: prog-plan@nasig.org

Please note the following:
  • All sessions will be allotted 60 minutes for the presentation and questions.
  • The Program Planning Committee welcomes proposals that are still in the formative stages, and may work with potential presenters to focus their proposals further.
  • Proposals should name any particular products or services that are integral to the content of the presentation. However, as a matter of NASIG policy, programs should not be used as a venue to promote or attack any product, service, or institution.
  • Time management issues generally limit each session to two to three speakers for conference sessions. Panels of four (4) or more speakers must be discussed in advance with the Program Planning Committee (prog-plan@nasig.org)
  • NASIG has a reimbursement policy for conference speakers whose organizations do not cover expenses.
