Military Student Survey

Identification of Researchers: This research is being done by Dr. Michelle Conrad, Assistant Professor, and Felicity Buell, a graduate student. We are working on a project for the College Student Personnel Administration Program at the University of Central Missouri.

Purpose of the Study: The purpose of this study is to gauge students’ needs and expectations as they transition from military service to academic endeavors.

Request for Participation: We are inviting you to participate in a study about incoming and current military student support services, courses, and orientation. It is up to you whether you would like to participate. If you decide not to participate, you will not be penalized in any way. You can also decide to stop at any time without penalty. If you do not wish to answer any of the questions, you may simply skip them. You may withdraw your data at the end of the study. If you wish to do this, please simply close the survey and do not submit it. Once you submit your responses, we will not know which survey is yours.

Exclusions: You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in this study.

Description of Research Method: This study involves completing a short online survey including some short answer questions. This survey will take about 10-20 minutes to finish. Please note that your answers are anonymous.

Privacy: All of the information we collect will be anonymous. We will not record your name, student number, or any information that could be used to identify you.

Explanation of Risks: The risks associated with participating in this study are similar to the risks of everyday life. Any medical treatments provided if an injury occurs will be at the expense of the participant.

Explanation of Benefits: You will indirectly benefit from participating in this study by providing feedback to improve university services and/or courses offered to military students.
