A Manager's Guide to Suicide Postvention: Evaluation Overview

Postvention is psychological first aid, crisis intervention, and other support offered after a suicide to
affected individuals or the workplace as a whole to alleviate possible negative effects of the event.
A suicide death of an employee is only one type of suicide that could affect the workplace. The suicide
death of clients, vendors, or a family member of an employee can also have a profound impact. In 2013, the Carson J Spencer Foundation, in partnership with the Crisis Care Network, the American Association of Suicidology and the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention published a guidebook for supervisors and managers to help them navigate the aftermath of a suicide death that affected the workplace.

The Carson J Spencer Foundation is conducting an exploratory survey to get a better sense of how people are using and experiencing this new resource: "A Manager's Guide to Suicide Postvention: 10 Action Steps for Dealing with the Aftermath of Suicide."

The guidebook can be accessed here: http://workingminds.org/ManagersGuidebook.pdf

This survey is optional and will help give us a better sense of how to best support workplaces affected by suicide. The survey was developed by the Carson J Spencer Foundation, and all responses will be anonymous and confidential. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and you can opt out of the survey at any time. There is no compensation available for the completion of the survey, but we appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your experiences.

If you find that the experience of taking this survey is distressing we encourage you to call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255 for additional resources for support.
