Informed Consent

Everyone is concerned about how the media, in all its forms, may be influencing how we view ourselves, our appearances, and our attitudes and behaviors. We are interested in finding out what we can about media influences on attitudes.

You are invited to participate in a study examining the importance of all forms of media and their effects on our perceptions and attitudes. If you agree to participate, you will be asked to read and respond to questions by clicking the link below. Your total time commitment for participation in this study will be about 15 minutes. You must be at least 18 years of age. Data collected from this instrument are confidential and will be averaged and coded so as to insure confidentiality. The coded data collected will then be analyzed and presented in a summarized form.

There are no major risks involved in answering the questionnaire completely and truthfully. Any information obtained in connection with this study will remain anonymous. The information you provide for extra credit will not be connected with your survey responses. Only data averaged for all subjects will be disclosed in scientific publications. If you decide to participate, you are free to discontinue participation at any time. If you decide to withdraw from the study, there will be no information gathered about you.

If you do not have any questions, please continue at the link below. If you have any questions, contact Dr. Beverly L. Stiles (940-397-4019; Beverly.stiles@mwsu.edu) or Dr. Emily E.
