Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly is about to access a significant amount of investment from the European Union through a new Growth Programme.  It will run until 2020 and is worth around €600 million (approximately £435 million).

It will be invested in line with the priorities set out in the Local Enterprise Partnership’s Strategic Economic Plan along the themes of Future Economy, Growth for Business and Conditions for Growth.

The Government has started publishing calls for EU-funded projects and this includes tenders to provide business support and skills activity.  These projects will likely not be up and running before 2016. Once they are, eligible businesses will be able to apply directly for support.

It is critical that tourism businesses are in a position to secure a fair proportion of investment to support growth, new jobs and year round sustainability.

In order to present a case for investment for a wide reaching investment programme for the sector, it is essential to gather baseline data across the industry.  Only with that data and your views will any funding and support be secured to assist you.

Visit Cornwall, in partnership with Newquay for Excellence Training and Cornwall Development Company, would like to invite Cornish tourism businesses to complete the following survey to understand more about your business and help secure a significant and meaningful level of investment for which your business may subsequently be eligible.

All responses will be treated in the strictest confidence and will be gathered to give industry wide averages or baseline information to inform a significant bid for European funding.  Individual business data will never be quoted.

This will take approximately 20 minutes to complete and it will need to be submitted by 5pm on 3 August 2015.

If you encounter any difficulties completing this please contact us at industry@visitcornwall.com
