Green Drinks are monthly networking events for anyone interested in sustainability, a spectrum that includes environmentalists from all walks a life, novices to professionals. These events provide environmentally-conscious communities a casual setting for drinks and green discussions. Topics range from sustainable development, climate change, climate justice, net zero energy projects, and even food justice.
Founder Edwin Datschefski created Green Drinks through a monthly, low-key social gathering originally for him and his friends to talk about news in the environmental field. Shortly thereafter when attendance grew, Deschefski realized the event's potential for communal sustainability engagement. Thus, Green Drinks was developed. Since its inception in 1989, Green Drinks has expanded to include over 600 participating cities worldwide, including neighboring Batavia, Chicago, Naperville, Crystal Lakes, and now Aurora!
