Target Audience: Intended for accreditation coordinators, safety officers, risk managers, quality management and performance improvement directors, facility and engineering managers, fire safety professionals in healthcare, and administrative and clinical staff who manage others with Environment of Care and Life Safety responsibilities. Healthcare staff from medical centers, ambulatory care centers, clinics, nursing homes, mental health facilities and other health-related organizations that are required to comply with the Joint Commission “EC” and Life Safety standards
Course Overview
This 1-hour Webinar program will provide information for those individuals who require an understanding of the preparation that is necessary to succeed during 2014 Joint Commission surveys and are responsible to implement a practical, continuously compliant program in healthcare facilities. Those participating in the program will receive specific guidance in how to understand and interpret how the Five Vulnerabilities that apply to the Environment of Care, Emergency Management and Life Safety chapters in the Joint Commission accreditation manual for hospitals. Practical materials will include scoring sheets, forms, and checklists to assist in preparation.

After completing this activity, the participants will be able to:
1. Interpret and prepare for the following five vulnerabilities:
• The Preliminary Planning Session
• The Life Safety Surveyor documentation review
• The Life Safety Surveyor facility tour
• The Physical Environment Interview session
• The Physical Environment Tracers
