Healthcare staff from medical centers, ambulatory care centers, clinics, nursing homes, mental health facilities and other health-related organizations that are required to comply with the Joint Commission “EC” and Life Safety standards
Course Overview
This 1-hour Webinar program will provide valuable information for healthcare staff responsible for creating, implementing and documenting an effective interim life safety measures (ILSM) program. Coverage will include a discussion of the 4-step process that is essential in meeting ILSM requirements and practical examples will be provided that will meet current Joint Commission, CMS and local regulatory expectations. A sample policy, worksheets and other materials will be provided to assist in ensuring that your own ILSM program is practical and compliant. Sufficient time will be provided during the session for questions and discussion.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the participants will be able to:
1. Identify when interim life safety measures are required to be evaluated.
2. Determine which interim measures apply and must be documented.
3. Create and apply a “fire watch decision grid."
4. Identify required staff training when interim life safety measures are in effect.
