The durability of the devices has been a challenge. Out of warranty repairs sometimes causes the device to be out of student and teacher hands for lengthy timeframes. The invoicing process for out of warranty repairs can sometimes lead to significant turn around times with regard to return to service of devices. Devices going home has created an increase in damages. Leadership has not been establishing required meetings and enforcing consequences and accountability associated with the project. Leadership is reacting to negative use in broad strokes and by punishing all for the actions of one. The structure of the school includes grade level groupings that do not efficiently match with the program design in cases where the middle school might be grade 6-8 and perhaps even multiage. Becoming familiar and fluent with software resources on the device can be a significant challenge for teachers and staff without individual motivation. Continuing to give students the opportunity to explore using the device and software is becoming a challenge. In some cases it is worsening the trust and respect issues. The common core does not have specific technology strands that help teachers to focus opportunities and utilize available technology resources as opposed to trying to deal with vague language. Developing high quality resources and teaching strategies using technology can take increased amounts of time. Teacher expectations are unrealistic in terms of how long development of resources will take. Teachers are sometimes held back because of lack of integration support and resources. Professional development in the aspects of the various technology components needs to increase for those people who support the project in the various buildings. The decline of funding for the teacher leader has decreased integration and uptake in the buildings. Done
