Question Title

* 1. A Message from Paul Brennan (Riverside SD, Superintendent),

There has been some confusion with elementary school uniforms (in particular the ability to wear light blue or not). Please understand that in order to make our district the best we have a lot of continuous change and transitioning to accomplish.

With that being said, we have a new automated call system. One that is cheaper for us to run (see today's Scranton Times article at: http://insurancenewsnet.com/oarticle/2014/08/17/districts-using-emergency-funds-to-balance-budgets-a-544596.html#.U_Cvjk2Ya70 )

This new system has been set active on Friday. I will be testing it out on Monday. In addition to cost savings, It is supposed to be one that will provide us with a tool for better communication. It will allow us to update our lists automatically, be faster in emergency situations, and help communicate to our Spanish speaking families......among other options that we didn't have before.

We are also transitioning on our uniform policy. If you purchased a light blue polo with the new logo on it, please fill out the survey. I will make a decision on Monday when the vendors open to analyze where the confusion lies. There should not be an approved vendor selling them.

For our parents, we will alter what we are doing or I will personally see to it that you are made whole for your purchase. Please take the time to fill this out.

Thank you!!
