Instructor-Student E-Mail Communication Study
In order to participate in this study, you should be at least 18 years old and a student who is currently enrolled in a 2 year or 4 year college, university, or technical institute.
You are invited to take part in this research study. The information in this form is meant to help you decide whether or not to take part.
The purpose of this research study is to examine perceptions of instructor-student communication through e-mail.
During the study, you will be asked to imagine that you have received an e-mail from an instructor and you will read that e-mail and respond to a set of questions about it. A demographic questionnaire asks you to provide your age, gender, and ethnicity. Your participation will take approximately 15 minutes.
There are no known risks to you from being in this research study. There are no direct benefits or compensation to you for participation. It is hoped that this research will provide additional knowledge about instructor-student communication.
All data collected in this study is anonymous. This means that no names or identifying information will be recorded during the study. The results of this research will be coded in such a manner that your identity will not be attached to the data you contribute. Your information in the study will be kept confidential. The results of this research may be published, but you will not be identified in any such publication or report.
This study is completely voluntary. If you choose to participate, you may stop participation at any time without penalty and without losing any benefits that are a part of this study.
