We are lucky to have this unique radio station and community organization, and I’m deeply committed to being a part of KFAI’s success and growth. I joined in 2004; volunteered since 2005; board-certified in 2007; helped lead the strategic planning process in 2010-11; and have served on the Board of Directors since 2011 where I have worked to improve the effectiveness of board meetings by implementing tools for online discussion and review of board documents. I also chair one of the new strategic plan implementation committees which is focused in part on increasing volunteer engagement and opportunities to raise unrestricted funds. If re-elected to the board, I hope to continue to improve Board communications both internal and external to the rest of the KFAI community; to better use technology for community-building and mobile delivery of KFAI’s amazing content; to improve the stations’ financial health by increasing unrestricted revenues; and to increase volunteer engagement.
I volunteer weekly as a program host for the Eritrean Community Radio. I have been doing this for the past 13 years. I would like to contribute in whatever capacity to help make some important decisions regarding KFAI's daily operation. I would also like to share my experiences as a program host and active member of KFAI.

I have served on the Board of Directors for the past two years. In that capacity I have chaired the Governance Committee, served on the finance and Executive Committees, participated in the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan and am currently Vice-President of the Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors made some changes this past year, laying groundwork for KFAIs future health and growth. In the future, KAI faces some serious challenges, both financially and organizationally, and I believe it is important to KFAIs progress that at this time we have continuity on the Board of Directors.
I am very committed to this work and want to continue serving the membership, volunteers and community.

As a volunteer and program host, I hope to continue to be your voice on the board. So much of the strategic plan the board passed and are putting into action came from you. As important as the quality of the volunteer experience is to a strong and growing organization, our financial health is crucial. In the next term, I will work with my fellow board members to:
- Identify and implement new revenue streams to help strengthen KFAI’s financial picture.
- Nurture relationships with donors.
- Improve KFAI’s ties with community businesses and organizations.
