Timaru District Council Significance and Engagement Policy Survey

The Significance and Engagement Policy is a policy which the Local Government Act 2002 requires all Council's to develop and adopt before 1 December 2014. The policy will provide a framework for how the Council decides what is a significant issue, and following on from that, what level of community engagement should be entered into about that issue. The policy once adopted will be applied to all decisions made by Council and is therefore significant in its own right.

The purpose of this survey is for the Council to get some feedback from the community about what criteria should be used to define an issue as significant.

It also serves to help the Council identify at what point in the decision making process residents want to be engaged with on issues. The survey is not difficult and will take less than five minutes to complete.

The Timaru District Council greatly appreciates your feedback and thanks you for taking the time to complete the survey.
