Invitation
I would like to invite you to take part in a research project. Before you decide whether to take part it is important that you understand why the research is being done and what it will involve. Please take time to read this carefully and ask the researcher if you have any questions. Talk to others about the study if you wish.

What is the purpose of the study?
This study aims to investigate whether there are psychological attributes in relation to social networking use (Twitter).

Why have I been invited to take part? You have received this invitation because you are either an undergraduate student at the University Of Worcester or a member of the public using http://psych.hanover.edu/Research/exponnet.html.

Do I have to take part?
No. It is up to you to decide whether or not you want to take part in this study. Please take your time to decide; you can decide not to take part or to withdraw from the study up to 28 days after participating. If you wish to have your data withdrawn please contact the researcher with your participant number and your data will then not be used. If you do decide to take part you will be asked to complete a consent form.

What will happen to me if I agree to take part?
If you agree to take part you will:
• Complete the consent form. If you are willing to take part then you will take part in an online questionnaire consisting of 3 parts.
• The questionnaire should take 20 minutes.
• Data will be recorded in a folder on a password protected laptop. Only when all the data is collected and analysed will all the data then be deleted.

Are there any disadvantages or risks to taking part?
There are no risks involved in taking part in this study however I would like to remind you that you have the right to withdraw from the study up to 28 days after participating. If any psychological distress is caused when taking part in this research an appropriate support service to contact would be the Samaritans.
