Joanie Girl’s Heart (JGH) is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 that is dedicated to expose minority girls to healthcare career opportunities and prepare them for college by providing them with life-skills through mentorship, community service, workshops, domestic and international mission trips.
Rising Star Heart Award Announcement
Joanie Girl’s Heart is seeking nominations for its Rising Star Heart Award. The Rising Star is defined as a woman who has made significant contributions to her community. The award was created to recognize and encourage excellence in service activities carried out by young professionals/community members focused on health. The award highlights significant accomplishments attained by young professionals/community members who give of themselves to advance the well-being of others.
Nomination Criteria
1. Rising Star Age range 21-45
2. Woman of minority descent
3. Willing to accept nomination and attend the Tree Trimming celebration or send someone who can accept the award on their behalf
4. The nominee has been involved in service and has demonstrated a sustained commitment to their communities for three years or more in two of the following ways.
o Creation and implementation of unique health related initiative(s)
o Works/Volunteers with a health organization or health related project
o Mentors young people
o Demonstration of impact on others and leadership in the community
o Serves with integrity
5. The nominee has not received any remuneration for services rendered to JGH
6. Businesses, organizations, and individuals of either gender, may submit a nomination application. Complete the application form in FULL here and submit supporting documentation by 5pm Novermber 11, 2014 to joaniegirlsheart@gmail.com.
