JBF Chefs Boot Camp for Policy and Change Application
Chefs Boot Camp

The Chefs Boot Camp for Policy and Change provides a unique opportunity for civically and politically minded chefs to become more effective leaders for food-system change. During thematic retreats around the country, participants receive advocacy and media training while learning about important issues, challenges, and opportunities facing the food world. The goal is to build a growing network of like-minded chefs, provide support for personal interests and passions, and give tools and guidance that will help them act as influential advocates.

The first Chefs Boot Camp for Policy and Change was held in the summer of 2012 at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tennessee. The program educated participants about The Pew Charitable Trusts campaign against antibiotic overuse in livestock. With this topic as a focus, chefs developed their advocacy voices while learning the intricacies of policy formation and implementation.

Future Boot Camps on various topics will be held around the country. Your answers to this questionnaire will help us select the group of chefs best suited to these future topics and locations. This information will also help us keep you informed about activities that might overlap with your areas of interest.

The survey should take no more than 7 minutes to complete. Please be advised that none of the information contained in this survey will be shared with any other organization or program.
