Funding Student Fieldtrips/Expeditions

For many people, overseas fieldwork is a defining moment in their student
life and helps shape their career path. But opportunities and support are
not always sufficient and fieldwork is expensive . It is my ambition to make it
easier for students to conduct overseas fieldwork and to find new sources of
funding to allow them to do so.

My name is Iain Woodhouse and I'm a professor at the University of
Edinburgh (http://forestplanet.wordpress.com). This is an informal study to
gauge opinions from people who undertook overseas fieldwork while they
were a student (either undergraduate or postgraduate).

Your contribution to this survey will help me identify the best places to focus
on improving student opportunities (both at Edinburgh, but also worldwide).

The survey is only six questions, and should be very quick to answer.
