Individual Differences in Blogging Behaviour: Information sheet

You are being asked to take part in a research project exploring individual differences in blogging behaviour. This project is being undertaken by Dr Chris Fullwood from the University of Wolverhampton Psychology Department. The project has been approved by the University’s Behavioural Sciences Ethics Committee.

If you agree to take part in this research you will be asked to complete 2 questionnaires: one which asks you about your blogging behaviour and the other which asks questions relating to your personality. In addition, you will also be asked to supply the content of your last 6 blog posts by uploading them (i.e. copying and pasting) directly into the survey. We would ask that only individuals who have written a blog within the last 6 months participate, and you must have written at least 6 blog posts (which you have current access to) to be able to take part. Participation in this research is entirely voluntary and if you do consent to take part you are also free to withdraw from the study at any point before completing the questionnaires. Responses to both questionnaires will be treated with the strictest confidentiality and the data we collect do not contain any personal information about you. We anticipate that it should take no longer than 30 minutes to complete the study.

If you would like to participate in this project then we would ask you to read the consent form, enter the date and indicate your consent to take part by clicking on the ‘next’ button. You will then be requested to complete both questionnaires and upload your blog content.

If you would like more information on the study then please contact Chris Fullwood (c.fullwood@wlv.ac.uk). We would also be happy to provide a full debriefing about the aims of the study upon request.

Thank you in anticipation of your time and participation

Chris Fullwood
