Over the last few years, a new model for creative incubation has been gaining popularity - the "maker space."

Maker spaces are places where members of community can come together to build, create, design or program in a cooperative, creative environment. Maker spaces offer community members access to all sorts of basic and high-tech tools (everything from hammers and drills to laser cutters and 3D printers), technical studios, for-lease work and storage space, classes and community activities. Some people use maker spaces to further a commercial venture, and some just enjoy the opportunity to further their craft in the company of other talented and creative people. Most maker spaces keep the lights on by leasing studio and storage space to certain folks while supplementing with "memberships," and are run on a non-profit model.

This survey is intended to assess whether there would be enough interest in Claremont and the surrounding communities to support such a maker space here in the City. Please provide as many answers as you can. There is an open comment section at the end of the survey. Thank you for taking the time!
