Sustainability Practices at Idaho State University   

 
o Purpose-
We would like to assess Idaho State University community’s attitudes, perceptions, and values toward sustainability practices such as recycling and energy conservation. The following questionnaire will ask for general demographic information followed by a brief survey to determine your perceptions, values, and attitudes towards the environment as well as attitudes towards different sustainability practices in your life.

• We are asking you to be in a research study.
• You do not have to be in this study.
• If you say yes, you may quit the study at any time prior to submitting your answers.
• Please take as much time as you want to make your choice.
• We anticipate that this survey will take 5-10 minutes of your time.
• This survey is separate from any course requirements and declining to participate will have no effect on grades or standing in the program.

o Procedures-
If you agree to participate, we will give you a short questionnaire to fill out via SurveyMonkey.com. All
answers from the questionnaire will be completely anonymous. The questionnaire will take about five to ten minutes to fill out.

o Participation and Withdrawl
Participation in the survey is VOLUNTARY. If you decline to take the survey, you will not be penalized. You may stop participating in the study prior to submitting the questionnaire either by Survey Monkey. Once submitted, all answers are anonymous and we will have no way to know which one was yours to discard.

o Privacy and Confidentiality
The only people who will see your answers will be the people who work on the study and those legally required to supervise the study. Your survey answers and a copy of this document will be locked in our files. When we share the results of our study in our report and poster presentation, we will not include your name. Any personal identification information will not be associated with your answers.

o Costs and Benefits of the Study
There is no financial cost to participate in the survey. Being in this study will not directly benefit you,
but may help inform the university about where to put its efforts as far as sustainability practices.
