International Levee Handbook – Implementing the guidance
Following the publication of the International Levee Handbook (ILH) in October 2013
CIRIA and the UK and Ireland National Backing Group for the ILH are keen to ensure that
1. the document is put into practice
2. the community that was created to inform the ILH publication is maintained in some form
3. related topics not covered (in detail) in the ILH are identified and addressed
This questionnaire seeks your views on the ILH (2013) and the recent (November 2014)
guide on the application of EC7 to flood embankments
It concludes by seeking your views on the formation of a community of practice (CoP) for
users of the ILH and for links with wider international / flood and coastal risk management CoPs.
