Independent Living Fund (ILF) in Scotland Consultation

This consultation is about the future of the Independent Living Fund in Scotland. Funds will be devolved when the Fund closes in 2015 and the Scottish Government is consulting with people across Scotland to ask for their views on the best ways to protect existing users and hopefully to support other disabled people.

Option 1: The Scottish Government would give the money to local authorities who would then have discretion over the allocation of individual funding.

Option 2: The Scottish Government administers funding on a national basis upon applications from local authorities or individuals.

Option 3: A non-governmental agency could administer the funding as an independent arbiter.

Option 4: A trust is established which would give disabled people and their carers more control over how the funds are delivered
