Description: This unique training is an advanced offering for those with previous clinical training. During this course, participants will receive in depth knowledge about the prevalence of harm, violence and trauma experienced by sexually exploited people and the specific effects of this trauma. Participants will learn about an integrative recovery model as well as how evidenced based interventions, such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, are used with this population.
Learning Objectives:
* Explore the specific effects of harm, violence and trauma experienced in the sex trade
* Familiarize participants with the relevant research on this topic, focusing on the prevalence and presentation of Complex PTSD
* Learn and practice useful interventions based on an integrative model of recovery
* Explore strengths and resiliency of people who have been sexually exploited
* Explore critical awareness of personal and societal beliefs and biases about people who participate in the sex trade
