Over the coming weeks, iTnews’ intends to publish a blog series + research report into the decision point CIOs and IT managers face when Exchange 2003 reaches the end of its support window on April 8, 2014.
IT decision makers sweating many IT environments based on Microsoft’s ten year old infrastructure are more than likely looking at the maturity of cloud computing platforms as an alternative to upgrading their mail server. Much the same can be said for those attempting to migrate from legacy GroupWise and Lotus Notes/Domino environments.
We intend to produce a guide for IT managers at the crossroads – with independent advice sourced from CIOs that have already made their decision and rolled out an Exchange upgrade or a transition to cloud platforms such as Office365 and Google Apps. The focus will be on the decision process, licensing considerations, planning and the transition process.
iTnews will generate interest in the report via the publishing of twice-weekly blog posts in the lead up to its release.
