Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) is the main benefit for people who are unable to work due to a disability or illness. ESA replaced Incapacity Benefit in 2008.

When you apply for ESA your ability to work is assessed. This assessment is called the Work Capability Assessment (WCA). There are three possible outcomes of a WCA: you may be found fit for work (you will not receive ESA); you may be placed in the Work Related Activity Group (WRAG); or in the Support Group (you will receive ESA if you are put in either of these groups).

This survey is about the experiences of people living with HIV who, following a WCA, have been placed in the WRAG.

NAT is conducting this survey to better understand people’s experiences and to find out about what support is offered, so that we can advocate for more support if necessary.

This survey will remain open until Sunday 16 September 2012.

Thank you for your time.
