High-Adventure Science, a National Science Foundation-funded project at the Concord Consortium, is seeking middle and high school teachers to test up to four 5-day modules on topics in Earth and environmental science. Module topics focus on climate change, air pollution, soil conservation and land use, and energy choices. Early versions of the modules are available at http://has.portal.concord.org.

Implementation for each module involves:
-1 class period for module pre-test
-5 class periods for module implementation
-1 class period for module post-test

(We define a class period as 45-50 minutes.)

There is no cost to participants.

Teachers will receive $250 for attending a 1.5 day professional development session to be held on either July 24-25 or July 31-August 1, 2014 in Concord, Massachusetts. (Date will be determined by the availability of participating teachers.) Travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Teachers will receive $250 per fully implemented module. Teachers will be responsible for distributing, collecting, and sending completed student permission slips to High-Adventure Science staff members. School and/or school district administrators must approve teachers' participation in this project.

Teachers must commit to both the PD and classroom implementation.
