2013 Conway, Deuth, & Schmiesing, PLLP Building Hope Scholarship

Scholarship Information

 
The Conway, Deuth & Schmiesing, PLLP Building Hope Scholarship was established in conjunction with Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity (CMHFH) to give a student the opportunity to provide meaningful volunteer services to fulfill needed activities for CMHFH. The Building Hope Scholarship award amount is $1,000.00.

2013-2014 Building Hope Scholarship Recipient Duties: CMHFH is seeking a SCSU student interested in serving as an Office Assistant, as a Construction Volunteer, or as a ReStore Volunteer.

Duties could include but are not limited to:
• Data management and data entry
• Office duties such as phone calls, mailings, designing flyers, etc.
• Doing research in the community or with other Habitat affiliates depending on current programming needs
• Volunteering on our construction sites
• Volunteering at the ReStore
• Doing research and marketing for the ReStore to increase donor relations and awareness in the community.
The duties are flexible depending on the current needs of Habitat and the interest and availability of the recipient. More specific duties will be determined by CMHFH and the student at the start of the internship.
APPLICATION PROCESS

This application process will require you to: answer three reflective statements, create a volunteer and service summary, provide applicant information, submit a professional letter of recommendation and agree to a certification statement. You can type or cut and paste your answers in the spaces provided. Please plan your time accordingly. You will not be able to re-access your application once you exit this program.

The three reflective statements are:
1.) What does service mean to you?
2.) Why are you interested in volunteering with CMHFH?
3.) Address your qualifications in the following areas AND provide a specific example that relates to each area:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook)
• Other computer programs or data bases with which you have worked
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing demands
• Oral and written communication skills
• Customer service skills
• Organizational skills
• Ability to work with as a team
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks
• Construction skills (if none, explain any interest you may have in this area)
