The Town of Superior’s Recycling and Conservation Advisory Committee (RCAC) is developing a proposal to present to the Town Board which would ask them to implement a bag fee for businesses in the Town of Superior. The purpose is to reduce single bag use/waste.
The Committee initially looked at options that called for the fees to be shared by the Town and the businesses to help offset program costs. The Committee is now also looking at options whereby all revenue collected would be retained by the businesses, with a portion to be used to distribute reusable bags at no charge to customers.
The Committee would like to receive community feedback on this concept to be able to put the best option forward. Responses to this questionnaire will help us better understand how the community feels about a single-use bag fee in Superior. Community feedback is a crucial part of this decision-making process, so please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire – and encourage friends and neighbors to do so as well.
