Heartland 2050 is an unprecedented effort to develop a long-term vision for the future of our community.

A vision:
  • built directly upon our own core values;
  • that will guide community leaders in the future;
  • that takes advantage of future public investments; and
  • promotes future economic growth to help everyone in the region prosper.

Understanding the core values of our region's residents will help ensure that the Heartland 2050 vision supports and guarantees that those values will be protected for future generations.

Our region is a two-state, eight-county area that includes: Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, Saunders and Washington in Nebraska; and Harrison, Mills and Pottawattamie in Iowa.

Community members will have the opportunity to share their values through this online survey and at community events held throughout our region. Responses will be compiled to create values ladders that will guide an interactive, community-based scenario development process and the resulting regional vision.

Thank you for participating in this survey!
