Every successful conference is dependent upon its content. The Jostens Renaissance National Conference looks for participants of all levels to share knowledge, understanding and insights by leading a breakout session. If you’ve done Jostens Renaissance for one year or 10 years, you have a story to report.
If you’d like to share your content, please complete this form by Friday, May 11, 2012. We’re looking for presentations of how your school, staff and students find something to believe in through Jostens Renaissance. Topic ideas for 45-60 minute sessions include:
• BASIC - Basics of Jostens Renaissance and how to get started
o If you have ideas and experience on how to start and implement Jostens Renaissance, you should present a session in this track!
o Explain what Jostens Renaissance is in your school.
o Tell the story of how you started Jostens Renaissance at your school – what element did you select to improve and how did you establish a baseline?
o Do you have experience with easy ways to start?
• ADVANCED - Advanced topics like taking a program to the next level and ways to track improvements in school
o How do you measure improvements in your school due to Jostens Renaissance? Share what data you track and how you track it.
o Share how you sustain excitement for Jostens Renaissance throughout the school year and from year to year.
o Tell us what Jostens Renaissance looks like at your school. Do you have course or club? Is it led by student or staff?
• ENGAGEMENT - Increasing staff morale, engaging all faculty members, and involving parents
o If you have a story of overcoming a barrier like getting all school staff on board with Jostens Renaissance, consider presenting a session for this track.
o How do you recognize and reward staff? Do educators and faculty recognize each other? Do you encourage students to recognize staff?
o Do you include parents and other community members in your Jostens Renaissance program? Do you invite parents to rallies or recognition events? Or email or send a letter home to notify and congratulate parents? Do you post recognition lists at your local business establishments?
• LEADERSHIP - Leadership skills with examples that can guide your school in the right direction
o Do you have a story about networking and making connections with others that helped you become a better leader or enable others?
o Share how you stay personally inspired and motivated.
o How did you build a student group to help facilitate Jostens Renaissance in your school?
• FUNDING & PROMOTION - Fundraising and promotion ideas for your Jostens Renaissance program
o If you have interesting ways of promoting Jostens Renaissance in your school community, share them at the conference!
o What is your most impactful fundraiser of the year?
o How do you make the most of your funds? Share your free and inexpensive ways to incent and recognize students and staff.
• RALLY- Rallies and recognition of positive results and behavior at your school
o If you have new rally theme ideas, unique recognition events, or special awards to incorporate all students, you should present for this track.
• SPECIALTY - Specific topics for elementary schools, small schools and PBIS/PLCs
o Tell others how Jostens Renaissance works in your elementary school.
o Do you have experience with recognition in small schools? Or using PLCs?
