American Academy - Parker Volunteer Survey (2013-2014)

American Academy, like all schools, benefits a great deal from the work and energy of its parent volunteers. The Parent Teacher Organization is a big part of coordinating the energy and work of volunteers. Please let us know if you would be interested in participating in any of the following PTO or non-PTO volunteer activities between now and the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year.

Please note: the first Parker PTO Board will be chosen by the American Academy Board of Directors. If you would like to be considered for the PTO Board in Parker, please indicate your interest here and send a letter of interest and qualifications to bod@americanacademyk8.org by September 1, 2013.

6.The PTO Board will run on the power of its volunteers! Please let us know if there is a particular area of interest in which you would like to get involved.

Social – Examples: Teacher appreciation events, Leadership Award events, Fall Carnival

Service – Examples: Food drives, clothing drives, toy drives

Spring Gala or other anchor events – Examples:

Communications – Examples: PTO e-newsletters and web updates

Finances – Examples: collecting and managing fundraising monies and accounts

Room Parent Oversight – Be a liaison between the Administration and the PTO and the room parents for classroom events and concerns

Lunch – Help the Instructional Assistants (IAs) keep order and lend a helping hand in the lunch room

Recess – Watch students during lunch recess

Carpool – Help students in and out of cars and stay safe during the carpool process

Anything and Everything – Let us know if you’d be willing to do just about any volunteer work!

Other – Have an idea about what skills that, as a volunteer, you’d like to contribute or what activities you’d like to help with? Tell us here!
