The Medicine Hat & District Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey in July 2013 to evaluate the initial impacts to business caused by the 2013 flood. At the time there were varied impacts from the flood, with 91% of respondents closed due to evacuations, 39% having no power/utilities, 17.4% incurred water damage and 8.7% had inventory affected. We also found that a majority of respondents experienced lost time and revenue due to labour costs and loss of sales. We are now conducting a follow-up survey to analyze the experience during the recovery process. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey.
